Cubic Mobile Suite (now Umo)

Ventra is an award-winning mobile transit ticketing app created for the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA). Initially developed by a third party, Cubic had taken over development of the app and turned to Cubic Austin to redesign the interface.
This project would lay the groundwork for the Cubic Mobile Suite, a white-label, ticketing-focused family of apps that can be used in any market utilizing Cubic ticketing with their transit system. Our team was tasked with creating a unified UX for the Cubic Mobile Suite, which consists of three apps: a multi-modal (bus, train, ferry, ride share, etc.) transit app for commuters; a merchant kiosk app for selling tickets and passes; and a ticket inspection and validation app for use by transit authority employees.
This presentation was used to demonstrate the visual improvement between the two versions of the app to CTA.







This presentation was used very early in the project to demonstrate to the customer the differences between the current app and how our version would improve the user experience and functionality of Ventra.
CX Team Portfolio
Role: Product design, design direction, customer management, team management
With the Cubic Mobile Suite winning awards in late 2018, the decision was made to spin off the UX team that had developed those products into its group (The Cubic Experience Team or CX Team), where it would establish and maintain visual consistency and help encourage design-based thinking across different business units within the organization.
The portfolio was produced internally to showcase the team's work up to that point, focusing on designs completed for Cubic Mobile Suite customers and other critical Cubic Transportation projects.
